It’s a cliche, we know, but our people really are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we thought we’d take the time to introduce you to some of the Revell Ward team.
This week it’s the turn of our trainee accountant, Louis Maguire.
Q: Where do you live and where are you originally from?
A: I live in Meltham where I have lived all my life.
Q: What’s the best thing about working in Huddersfield?
A: It’s only a short trip from home, and the travel expense is cheap. The traffic isn’t too bad compared to nearby cities.
Q: What’s the most challenging thing you’ve ever done?
A: Learning and passing my Grade 8 classical guitar.
Q: How did it change you?
A: It was one of the first major milestones I reached in my life, it has made me more ambitious as a person.
Q: What motto do you try and live by?
A: Generally, everything works out.
Q: What’s the most common misconception people hold about accountants, and how would you challenge it?
A: A lot of people probably see accountants as ‘geeky’ or ‘boring’, but I feel like all of my colleagues including myself are all genuine and personable.
Q: What job would you be really bad at doing and why?
A: Probably something like an artist. I’m not very neat or tidy; I think my handwriting speaks for itself!
Q: When you’re not working at Revell Ward, where are we likely to find you?
A: You are likely to find me at a rehearsal, playing or watching football, or most likely of all – in my room.
Q: What genre of music would you compare yourself to and why?
A: I would compare myself to some classic rock. I seem to get on with most people, and I’m generally upbeat and happy.
Q: Tell us something about yourself that nobody would guess…
A: I’m fascinated by cosmology. Google it!
Thanks for your time, Louis!
