Further to last weeks tax chat, the Chancellor has now announced that the 2018 Budget will be held on Monday 29th October.
This is before the emergency Brexit summit which is scheduled for November.
We are told that the reason for setting a Budget date is so that the Finance Bill can pass through Parliament before any Brexit related legislation needs to be presented.
With Brexit pending, it is really difficult to speculate on what, if any, tax changes will be included in this Budget.
We suspect that other than the essential updates to annual tax bands and allowances, plus the usual tax avoidance threats, the tax changes will be minimal. Any bigger tax changes to accommodate Brexit will no doubt follow after the November summit.
