Physiotherapists, Osteopaths & other wellbeing professionals, are your tax affairs up to date?

Physiotherapists, Osteopaths & other wellbeing professionals, are your tax affairs up to date?

If you are a physiotherapist, an Osteopath or any other wellbeing professional now is the time to make sure that your tax affairs are in order.

In the latest one of many similar campaigns, HMRC are targeting all of the above and offering the opportunity to voluntarily disclose any income not declared for tax purposes and to bring thier tax affairs up to date.  Those who disclose under this campaign will benefit from ‘the best possible terms’.

The campaign gives until 31 December 2013 for you to notify your intention to disclose additional income and until 6 April 2014 to make the disclosure and pay over any tax due.

I do remain sceptical about the advantages to HMRC using these campaigns to target specific business areas.  However for the few that need them they do offer the opportunity to bring tax affairs up to date with, hopefully, mininal penalties and interest charges being applied by HMRC.
