Tax dates
We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and what better way to do that than to remind you of some key dates in the tax year.
We appreciate it is difficult enough to get back into the flows of work after all the festivities of Christmas and the New Year, but we would like to ensure as many penalties and last minute rushes to submit information to HMRC are avoided as possible. Therefore please find below a summary of the key dates to make note of in your new 2012 diary:
31 January 2012
Personal/partnership and trust tax returns filed online in respect of 2010/11 due.
Payment of personal tax liability in respect of 2010/11 due.
Deadline for first payment on account for 2011/12 tax year (if applicable)
6 April 2012
Start of 2012/13 tax year – you can now start to collate information for tax return preparation – get that return submitted earlier than you did last year!!
19 May 2012
Deadline for filing your Employer Annual Returns – P35 and P14 – for 2011/12
5 July 2012
Last date for agreeing your PAYE settlement agreement for 2011/12
6 July 2012
Deadline for filing P11Ds for 2011/12
31 July 2012
Deadline for second payment on account for 2011/12 tax year (if applicable)
5 October 2012
Deadline for notification of chargeability to income tax/ capital gains tax for 2011/12 if not registered for self assessment – complete form CWF 1 for self employment and SA1 for non-self employed income
31 October 2012
Deadline for filing paper return for 2011/12
31 January 2013
Deadline for submitting personal tax return to HMRC electronically for 2011/12
