Karen Borowski
Karen Borowski
Director
After starting out at Grant Thornton in 1991, I’ve been with Revell Ward since it started in 2008 when I was part of the MBO team that bought out our client base from Mazars.
My main role is to...

head up the Revell Ward audit team, but I’m always working on our own marketing and HR, too.

I get the most satisfaction from…
seeing people achieve their ambitions and being able to say I played a part in getting us there.

My Revell Ward highlight so far has been…
seeing my favourite client sell-out (for a handsome sum, might I add!)

What makes Revell Ward different is…
the fact we start by asking ‘why’? If you don’t know why you’re doing something, how do you measure the value of its success?

Jennifer Davies
Jennifer Davies
Director
I started at Revell Ward as a graduate trainee, having impressed the partners during my summer work experience before my final year at university, and have been here ever since.
My main role is to...

look after a mixed portfolio covering accounts support for small to medium-sized businesses, including year-end work as well as financial administrative support throughout the year. I’m ‘hands-on’ for the best results, and also oversee our payroll bureau which is much more exciting than it sounds.

I get the most satisfaction from…
making things better. By this, I mean helping clients to improve their business systems, in particular the finance side of things. It’s really satisfying to transform an area that’s causing headaches into one that is running smoothly and providing valuable information to the business owner.

My Revell Ward highlight so far has been…
getting to know some amazing people inside and outside the business, and also being involved in the things we do outside of work such as owning and riding a tandem with Karen.

What makes Revell Ward different is…
the fact we receive client feedback reminding us that we are special and they’ve found our help a refreshing change from what they’ve been used to elsewhere. What keeps coming up is our “happy to help” approach, so maybe that’s it?

Lesley Sutton
Lesley Sutton
Director
I started my career in audit where I trained to be a Chartered Accountant. By the time I’d qualified, I’d realised that audit was not for me and that I was really interested in tax (yes, it can be interesting!) So, I moved to a middle tier firm to become a Chartered Tax Advisor. I joined Revell Ward in 2009, not long after the practice was bought from Mazars.
My main role is to...

head up the tax practice. That means I oversee all of the tax work we do and provide strategic tax advice alongside my team. I specialise in providing tax advice to families and owner managed companies.

I get the most satisfaction from…
solving tax problems for my clients and taking away the worry that tax issues can often create. Working with owner managers and families rather than a finance team is rewarding, (and often challenging!) as they have a direct interest in the business.

My Revell Ward highlight so far has been…
developing excellent working relationships and becoming trusted tax advisor to several families who have been clients of Revell Ward for many years, in some cases since the 1960’s, being introduced to and gaining the trust of the younger generations as they take over the business and family affairs.

What makes Revell Ward different is…
that we can offer access to specialist advice locally, particularly on the tax side, which is only usually available in much larger firms. In addition, we have the attention to detail and speed of service associated with a smaller practice…the best of both worlds!

I have been with Revell Ward since the beginning in 2008. I first started in our outsourcing team, so I have experience on the accounting side, together with the AAT qualification that I achieved. My role is to...

work closely with Lesley, our Tax Director, to provide and manage a tailored service to match each of our client needs. This includes tax compliance requirements, filing tax returns etc., and tax advice, such as remuneration and inheritance tax planning.

I get the most satisfaction from…

spotting an opportunity for how a client can be more tax efficient and then implementing ideas to achieve it.

My Revell Ward highlight so far has been…

there have been many, some big, some small, but each one important. I am looking forward to making many new ones in the future!

What makes Revell Ward different is…

I get the most satisfaction from…

It’s good to know that we provide more than just a bog-standard audit report; we can really make a difference!

My Revell Ward highlight so far has been…

watching the graduate trainees that I have helped to train turn into confident and professional qualified accountants. I’m pretty proud of that!

knowing that we do deliver a quality service to our clients.

My Revell Ward highlight so far has been…

knowing that we aren’t just a forgotten service, that payroll has an impact on everyone no matter what rate of pay they are on

What makes Revell Ward different is…

we are a team, and we understand that every calculation we do, affects someone’s take home pay.

producing information to enable clients to understand their business and see how it has performed over the period

My Revell Ward highlight so far has been…

I enjoy working on a variety of clients and feeling that you can make a difference

we are a small friendly team who are able to work closely with clients providing that personal touch and be there on the end of a phone or in person if needed.

Linda Wheelwright
Manager
Having spent my working life in industry in a variety of businesses and becoming part CIMA qualified along the way, I made the decision to move to practice in 2022.
My role is to...

take on a variety of different tasks including preparing management accounts, helping with bookkeeping queries, lending a hand in payroll and anything else which fits my skill set. One day is never like the last!

I get the most satisfaction from…

providing clients with accurate and relevant information on which to base their decision-making.  I also help to mentor new apprentices and enjoy passing on a real-world perspective to complement their learning.

looking at the way things are done and helping to improve processes to try and work in a more efficient way.

What makes Revell Ward different is…

they are an employer who values their staff and considers employee happiness to be an important measure of their success, whilst offering a professional service at all times.
