As a firm of professionals responsible for the continual professional education of our own people we are obviously very proud of what we and our staff have achieved. We have a range of educational and life experiences within the firm but all of us like to give something back to the local community to show we are grateful for the opportunities that came our way.
Here are some of the positive ways we have contributed.
Two Revell Ward directors, Karen Borowski and Jennifer Davies were instrumental in persuading a group of executive ladies to don on their bike (actually tandems for some) and take the Pedal for Pounds challenge from Yeovil back to Huddersfield. The team raised over £20,000 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Huddersfield Town Football Academy.
Festive First Friday goers raise £100 for The Welcome Centre
Received from The Welcome Centre:
“On behalf of The Welcome Centre thank you for all your contributions from the First Friday event in December at the John Smith’s Stadium. The £100 donation will help us feed 10 people for a week who are in crisis within the local area.
One client came to visit us this week and said “I’ve come to offer you a small donation as I’ve found a job and start soon. I wanted to tell you how grateful I am for the service as well as having someone to talk to both staff and volunteers when I’ve had to come in. You’ve been helpful, sympathetic and haven’t judged me.”
John* has used The Welcome Centre on and off as he has struggled to find work and needed support with food, clothing, toiletries and cat food but now he’s back on his feet.
We are currently seeing about 150 people per week and during the next few months as the cold weather sets in, local people will face many challenges choosing between heating and eating. We are able to support them because of the support you have given us. If you would like to talk about other ways you can support us please get in touch.”

Revell Ward join The Town Foundation at Dalton I & J School
It was an absolute pleasure to be at breakfast club on a cold December Wednesday. The day started, early, for Karen and Jennifer who arrived at the school on their tandem. Having cycled in freezing temperatures, they were pleased to get inside, where the tandem duo spent their time talking to children and handing out the Revell Ward sporks, which were a big hit. The excitement was obvious especially when hearing, “wow, they were on the Big Bang Theory”. The buzz and the excitement were wonderful and the volunteers were very busy preparing breakfasts and helping the children. The breakfast club is one of the larger clubs and on our visit 91 children passed through the doors to receive a great start to the day.
The duo also took the opportunity to hand over a cheque for £1,200 which will help The Town Foundation provide 2,400 breakfasts to children in our area.
The “Alternative Olympics”
A number of corporate clients and contacts entered teams into what can only be described as a day never to be forgotten as they found themselves covered in foam, soaked to the skin and man handled in ways they never thought possible. All profits went to the “Keep it Up” Campaign.
£1,200 raised for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice
We are very pleased to announce that Karen Borowski and Jennifer Davies have raised £1,200 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, a charity based in Huddersfield.
Karen Borowski said, “Forget Me Not have really invested in people’s lives and have improved the lives of families that would have otherwise been struggling to cope emotionally and physically. Russell House is an amazing place to live, learn, laugh and love and most of all has great energy”
