Q: Who is our most high profile client in the local marketplace?
A: Huddersfield Town of course – and here we are celebrating their success.
Q: Which of our clients supplied the glass that was used to make the pods on the London Eye?
Messrs. Gardner and Newton started bending glass in 1836. In 2006, after 170 years in the industry, the company joined forces with another leading curved glass manufacturer, Novaglaze, relocating to their 46,000 sq ft factory in Huddersfield.
Both Novaglaze’s and Gardner & Newton’s sustained growth over the years can be attributed to quality; of workmanship, service and the speed of response. These are factors which mean that more and more clients rely upon Novaglaze for their curved glass requirements.
Now conjoined, Novaglaze offers its clients a wide range of products and services including: curved annealed, curved laminated, curved toughened, curved double glazing units, drilling, edgework, sandblasting, acid etching, screen printing. The company also offers high quality laminated glass; our flat laminated glass has been British Standard Institute (BSI) tested and conforms to BS6206:1981.
Q: Which client is squeaky clean when it comes to business?
After many months of deliberation as a family, Emma, Paul & Diane made the decision to sell Distinct Disposables Limited and, as of October 9th 2017, the company is under new ownership.
Emma and Diane have resigned from their roles and the business now has new owners namely, RSH Limited. Paul will be staying in the business and is delighted to have become a Director and Shareholder of RSH Limited group of companies.
Paul said, “I am absolutely delighted with my new role and have already found a new zest for striving forward under the ‘new’ Distinct Disposables Limited teamed up with the fact that I am also a shareholder in two other great, successful companies; Rubber Safety Hygiene Limited & Louis France Limited, so the future looks great under the new ownership and group of businesses whilst retaining everything that Distinct has stood for over the last 30 years with me still a huge part of this!”
When asked about Revell Ward he said,
“Trust is key in any relationship but particularly true between a company and their accountants. When we were selling our family business, we needed someone always on our side and reliable while also taking on some of the stress and strain that comes along with this type of transaction. Karen, Jennifer and Lesley were true professionals throughout and their expertise and individual areas of proficiency meant we were able to reach our goals and objectives towards a successful outcome. Their ‘we can help’ attitude never faltered and I would happily recommend Revell Ward and have done many times.”
In 1995 the three founders of Timber Specialists got together from a variety of different backgrounds to form the company. Peter Jenkinson, John Leatham and Kevin Smith started trading in January 1996 with a staff of 5!
Thanks to the support of their customer base the company traded far in excess of predictions and estimates and in 1998 they approached Ron Bremner to form a new company in Sheffield with great success.
Over the years the company has grown in size and structure to a point where it now has a combined sales total well in excess of £10 million. With a workforce of over 60 people they have a combined timber expertise of over 500 years. Much of the company’s success is down to an unbeatable 24 hour delivery service and keeping the company up to date with market demand. They now hold accreditation for both FSC and PEFC Chain of Supply.
